BAUCHI LG POLLS: APM SWEEP ALL 20 CHAIRMAN SEATS, WIN 319 COUNCILLOR POSITIONS

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) don carry major victory for Bauchi State local government election, as the party win all 20 chairmanship seats across the state.

APM also dominate the councillorship election, winning 319 out of the 323 councillor positions. Na only four councillorship seats other political parties manage to win.

The Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC) announce the results on Monday night after voting, counting, collation and verification don finish.

For Bauchi Local Government Area, Umar Mohammed Aliyu win the chairmanship seat with 125,170 votes, while Abubakar Ibrahim Dembo win Toro with 109,999 votes and Bappah Aliyu take Alkaleri with 107,482 votes.

Other APM winners include Ya’u Samaila Sade for Darazo, Yusuf Babayo Zaki for Katagum and Saleh Hodi Jibir, former Majority Leader of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, who win Shira.

For the four councillorship seats wey APM lose, SDP win Dandango Ward in Bauchi LGA, National Rescue Movement take Darazo South Ward, Zenith Labour Party win Wandi Ward in Dass, while Young Progressive Party secure Zirami Ward in Giade.

BASIEC Chairman, Jummai Abubakar, say the commission don confirm all the successful candidates after dem meet the necessary legal requirements and get the highest valid votes for their areas.

She also say the election follow the law and congratulate the winners and people of Bauchi State.

With the result, APM don take control of all 20 local government chairmanship positions in Bauchi, while the party also record overwhelming victory for the councillorship election.
