Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, dey preside over the sitting, wey dey attended by the remaining senators after some recent changes for the Upper Chamber.

In the last six months, Senate don lose two members — Senator Okechukwu Ezea from Enugu and Senator Godiya Akwashiki from Nasarawa — because dem die, while Senator Jimoh Ibrahim comot after dem appoint am ambassador-designate by President Bola Tinubu, wey reduce total senators from 109 to 106.

Clerk of the Senate, Emmanuel Odo, announce the emergency sitting on Sunday, talk say:

“The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, don direct say plenary must hold for emergency sitting on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.”
