Troops of Nigerian Army don successfully rescue one retired colonel, Ajanaku, wey kidnappers abduct for Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
According to counter-insurgency report by Zagazola Makama, the retired senior officer dem kidnap around 12:45am on January 5 from him house close to Salvation Army Church, along Rukuba Road, Jos.
Security sources talk say immediately the incident happen, troops from relevant military units respond sharp-sharp and begin pursue the kidnappers through Wildlife Park area.
Search-and-rescue operation later intensify for caves and rocky high grounds, wey dem believe say criminals dey use hide.

During the operation, the kidnappers contact the wife of the retired colonel, demand ₦200 million ransom, and threaten say dem go kill am if security forces no stop the rescue mission.
But security forces no gree. Dem switch to covert operation, and by about 5:30pm same day, dem rescue the retired colonel for outskirts of Rafiki axis, Bassa LGA.
After the rescue, dem carry the officer go military medical facility for check-up. Dem also go debrief am to collect useful intelligence for follow-up operations.
Troops still dey comb nearby forests as dem continue pursuit of the kidnappers wey escape.
